Day 1
day 1 COLOMBO ARRIVAL - MT. LAVINIA
Arrival at Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in the Mount Lavinia area known as a beach resort vacation spot near bustling Colombo city. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Lavinia.
Day 2
day 2 MT. LAVINIA TO JAFFNA BY TRAIN
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Mount Lavinia railway station to catch a train to Jaffna. On arrival at Jaffna station, transfer to your hotel. Later in the evening visit Casuarina Beach, and Fort Hammenhiel that was built by the Dutch in the 16th century. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3
day 3 JAFFNA SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast at hotel. Located on the northernmost peninsula of the island, Jaffna offers many sightseeing options. Visit Jaffna Fort - the second largest in Sri Lanka built by the Dutch in 1619. Another highlight is the Nallur Hindu Temple and the Nagadeepa Buddhist Temple (reached by boat), that marks the site where Buddha came during his second visit to Sri Lanka. Return to your hotel, for your second night's stay in Jaffna.
Day 4
day 4 JAFFNA TO ANURADHAPURA
After breakfast, travel by road to the ancient capital city of Anuradhapura. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, go for a Jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park. The park takes its name from the natural lake that form here after the monsoon season. Spot some wildlife including elephants, and if you are lucky, even a leopard. Return to your hotel, and overnight at your hotel in Anuradhapura.
Day 5
day 5 ANURADHAPURA SIGHTSEEING - TRINCOMALEE
Breakfast at hotel. Today tour Anuradhapura - home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Afternoon sightseeing tour to visit both historical and archaeological sites including the sacred bo-tree (amongst the oldest documented trees in the world), the 1600 columns of Brazen Palace, and Ruwanwelisaya - the most famous dagobas (Buddhist stupa) in Sri Lanka. After the tour, head to Trincomalee, located in the East Coast of Sri Lanka. On arrival, check-in at hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Trincomalee.
Day 6
day 6 TRINCOMALEE
Day free at leisure or explore Trincomalee. Take an optional tour to visit the Koneswaram - a sacred Hindu temple, the Portuguese built Fort Frederick, and the seven hot springs at Kanniya. Overnight at your hotel in Trincomalee
Day 7
day 7 NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast transfer to Nuwara Eliya. As you approach closer to Nuwara Eliya, you pass through mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. On arrival, tour a tea plantation and a tea factory, Later check-in and overnight at your hotel in cool Nuwara Eliya.
Day 8
day 8 NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast, excursion to Horton Plains - Sri Lanka's highest plateau 7200 feet (2200 metres) above sea level in the central mountain country. Trek to "Worlds End" where the plateau plunges a thousands of feet. Also see the mesmerizing Baker's Falls. Later return to your hotel and overnight at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 9
day 9 NUWARA ELIYA TO COLOMBO
Breakfast to hotel, head for the capital - Colombo. On arrival, check-in at hotel. Evening free at leisure to experience Colombo's sights and sounds. Overnight at your hotel in Colombo.
Day 10
day 10 COLOMBO DEPARTURE
Breakfast at hotel. Depending on the flight timing, transfer to the airport to catch your return flight.
