day 1 ARRIVE BARCELONA
On arrival at Barcelona airport, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Rest of the day at leisure. Barcelona is one of Europe's most vibrant and artistic cities – so just go for a walk to get the vibe of the city. Overnight at your hotel in Barcelona.
Day 2
day 2 BARCELONA SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast at hotel, followed by city sightseeing by a hop-on hop-off bus. Start by visiting the historic architectural sites of Parc de la Ciutadella and Arc de Triomf. Then go by the most visited monument in entire Spain, the Sagrada Familia. Continue with the impressive and characteristic architecture highlights enroute and finish up at Port Vell and walking down to the famed Ramblas square. Enroute, when closer to the sea, you might even have time to stop off and enjoy the lively beaches of Barcelona. Indulge in some Spanish cuisine before returning to your hotel for your overnight stay in Barcelona.
Day 3
day 3 BARCELONA CULINARY TOUR
Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the culinary highlights of this epicurean region, on an optional (charges extra) Tapas tour. Sample various Tapas & wine and make note of the recipe of your favorite snacks. The tour takes you to places where locals eat and buy their food, and avoid overcrowded tourist haunts. The tour caters to vegetarians also. Overnight stay at your hotel in Barcelona.
Day 4
day 4 BARCELONA TO MADRID TRAIN
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending upon train departure time, transfer to the railway station to catch your train to Spain’s capital city – Madrid. Rest of the day at leisure. Time permitting, you can head to Plaza Mayor - a central square which once hosted bullfights, but now is a public area with outdoor cafes, and restaurants Overnight at your hotel in Madrid.
Day 5
day 5 MADRID SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Madrid on a bicycle tour. Hop on your bicycle, and experience the city in a few hours. Pass highlights like the Neo-Gothic Almudena Cathedral, the grand Royal Palace of Madrid (official residence of the Spanish Royal family), and must-see Retiro Park - a wonderful park, with beautiful sculptures, monuments, galleries, a crystal palace, and a serene lake. Your tour includes a coffee break.
After the tour, you can choose to visit some of the other sites in Madrid, on your own accord. The Prado Museum (boasts a collection of more than 5,000 paintings that rivals the Louvre collection in Paris), Puerta del Sol (a historic square like Plaza Mayor), and the Gran Vía (the Broadway of Madrid with numerous shops & restaurants) are some suggested places. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6
day 6 MADRID TO TANGIER FLIGHT, TRANSFER TO CHEFCHAOUEN
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending upon train departure time, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to the Moroccan city of Tangiers. On arrival in Tangiers, transfer by land to the city of Chefchaouen. Often equated with Santorini, as both places have houses tastefully painted in shades of blue, or white color. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7
day 7 CHEFCHAOUEN
Breakfast at the hotel. Then leisurely stroll the charming by-lanes and explore the city that stood guard to fight against the Portuguese colonizers. Along with Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, Chefchaouen is part of a popular tourist circuit & exudes a chilled out atmosphere. Blue and white painted houses of Medina (old town), against a backdrop of mountains, lend this place a visually striking setting. The city is famous for woolen blankets, and do try out the native variety of goat cheese. Adventurous can head to Kef Toghobeit Cave - one of the deepest caves in Africa. Overnight at your hotel in Chefchaouen.
Day 8
day 8 CHEFCHAOUEN TO TANGIER, FLIGHT TO MALAGA
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending upon flight departure time, transfer to Tangier airport to catch your flight to Malaga. On arrival in Malaga, transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure – perhaps head to the beachfront esplanade. Overnight at your hotel in Malaga.
Day 9
day 9 MALAGA
Breakfast at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure on laze on a sunny beach. Those interested have an option for an excursion to Granada (Alhambra), Seville, or the Gibraltor. Ask our travel consultants for some options. Overnight at your hotel in Malaga.
Day 10
day 10 MALAGA
Breakfast at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for some more fun on the beach. Malaga has a happening nightlife and is teeming with restaurants, bars, and nightclubs – so party the night! Overnight at your hotel in Malaga.
Day 11
day 11 MALAGA DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel, and depending upon train departure time, transfer to the airport to catch your return flight home.
