Overall, the tour was very well organized, with excellent excursions, timely pickups, and clear communication throughout. There was just one minor hiccup with a missed pickup, but everything else ran smoothly and professionally.

When we booked this tour, we assumed we would be part of a group traveling together around Portugal, led by a dedicated guide. Instead, we found ourselves traveling independently, receiving guidance via email and text messages. This was a significant departure from our previous travel experiences. All the accommodations were advertised as 4-star, but the final hotel in the Azores was in very poor condition. Upon arrival, workers were carrying out repairs in the rooms adjacent to ours. We would rate this hotel as a 2-star at best. There was no coffee or tea-making equipment provided, and when we requested it, we were told a kettle could be supplied, but we would need to source our own coffee, tea, sugar, etc. On the second night, we were informed at 11 p.m. that the hotel would be evacuated due to a serious electrical issue. The hotel’s location was also problematic—isolated, with little of interest nearby. Overall, the Azores island chosen for the tour offered very little to see or do. We were eager to leave. This portion of the tour should be reconsidered and replaced with a more engaging destination. We arrived at the Azores airport at 4:30 a.m. for a 7:05 a.m. departure, but the flight was delayed until 5 p.m. As a result, we missed our connecting flight, and our luggage is still missing. We do not hold the tour operator responsible for this. Our remote tour guide, who supported us via email and WhatsApp, went above and beyond to resolve the issues we faced during the trip. The ground transfer staff throughout Portugal were outstanding—polite, efficient, and always punctual.

Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and helpful, especially Bruno. Rides were on time and drivers were helpful. Seeing Fatima was nice but the overall experience there disappointed. It was basically a long drive out and back. The train rides were enjoyable and something we Americans rarely experience. Porto was lovely and "busy." Very nice accommodations at Porto Trindade and The Patio. The Neya Hotel was rather sterile compared to the others. The winery tours at Fonseco, Croft, etc and the river cruises were a highlight for our group - especially the guide David and bus driver Paulo. Amaranth was a nice stop with the church visit. Frankly, the airport experiences, which was beyond your control, left us disappointed.

My family and I really enjoyed our trip to Portugal. The tour company made it easy to enjoy the trip without having to organize and research each step of the trip. Each guide did a very good job. We were also happy that we upgraded our tour to have private transfers and upgraded hotels. The transfers made it easy to get to each location easily with such a busy schedule. I also really appreciated the prompt communication I experienced with the tour company. Any time I had a question or needed assistance, I received an answer quickly. I would use this tour company again.

The team at Wanderful and also Tourradar were excellent and efficient. They were quick to answer requests and questions in a constructive manner. The transfers were well worth it and the WhatsApp reminders of the next day's activities or train details made for an enjoyable, hassle-free trip. Excellent attention to detail. The hotels in Lisbon and Porto were 4-star rated, and the SANA Malhoa in Lisbon was particularly excellent. The Grand Muthu Oura View Beach Club Hotel in Albufeira was not a 5-star hotel as it claimed, and some parts of the room needed updating. However, the view, location, staff, and cleanliness were excellent. The tours provided, and our tour guides (Marco A, Bruno A, and Inez S), were informative and friendly.

The Team at Wanderful did an amazing job of organizing the hotel stays and tours. They gave us clear directions each afternoon regarding our itinerary for the following day and helpful suggestions. Whenever I asked a question they were quick to respond and very helpful.

We now booked a second trip with Wonderful Holidays in November - this time, it was a trip to Portugal. The price was good and the hotel & food was top class.
