As you cross the suspension bridge over the Urubamba River, delve into the exploration of the Chachabamba archaeological site (2,150m / 7,052ft). Embark on an uphill trek covering approximately 8km, lasting about 4 hours, leading you to the awe-inspiring Wiñayhuayna archaeological site (2,700m). This remarkable complex boasts an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious area, and an urban sector. Immerse yourself in the lush vegetation of the forest as you make your way.
    After a satisfying box lunch, continue your trek for about an hour, reaching Inti Punku (The Sun Gate) at 2,730m (8,792ft). This viewpoint grants you the first mesmerizing glimpse of Machu Picchu (2,430m / 7,972ft). Following this awe-inspiring moment, commence your descent to Aguas Calientes, where you will complete the day by checking into your hotel.

    day 12 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu - Cusco

    Start your day with an early breakfast and then take a bus back up to Machu Picchu. Experience a guided tour that will unravel the captivating history of this remarkable citadel, highlighting its key landmarks. Following the tour, savor lunch at your leisure. When you're prepared, hop on the train for the return trip, enjoying a scenic ride lasting approximately an hour and a half. The train will transport you back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will be ready to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

    Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel, after which you'll finalize the check-out procedures in preparation for departure. You'll then be transported to the Cusco airport to board your flight back home. Wishing you a safe and enjoyable journey!
